True Elysians

Membership of the True Elysians isn't particularly formal - hang around with us, make the right noises, and prove you'll have our backs in a fight, and you're more or less in. There are social gatherings of members organised on a semi-regular basis, which mostly consist of 'rec room, such-and-such a time', and cold-shouldering anyone else who tries to use the room, which are the main point of contact for most members of the group, as well as a good way to trade more or less discreetly in gossip, drugs, or anything else you want to pass around.

Those who form more of an inner circle do tend to have more private meetings, to which those who've built up sufficient trust will be invited.

Aims

  • Prisoners of War and the Coalition of Political Prisoners have been talking a lot more lately - we can't let them solidify an alliance.
  • Just because contact with the Empire has been temporarily lost doesn't mean we can let things slide. The guards aren't exactly on our side, but it's in all our interests to make sure that total anarchy doesn't break out - and especially that the revolutionaries or the Tel don't somehow manage to take control.

Rumours

  • It's generally assumed that there are government informants among the prisoners and guards, passing out information on seditious activities. It's not like anyone's 100% sure about that, but Yuri may well be such an informant, and there's probably at least one more in the prison. Equally, if you show yourself to be particularly patriotic, and particularly if you can take responsibility for uncovering a substantial plot among the Tel or the dissidents, then it's always rumoured that that might persuade the powers that be to commute your sentence - though that's probably just a rumour.
  • A scrap broke out between us and the CPP and Prisoners of War during the recent chaos. Weirdly enough, it seemed like a couple of members of the CPP who're usually up for a scrap just…kind of stood there and watched their friends get beaten.

Notable Members

  • Jimmy Maine: Will always have your back if anyone's giving you hassle.
  • Yuri Tanaka: Has connections both in and outside the prison, and delights in collecting information. If you know something, it's generally worth your while to let them know. If you had a juicy bit of gossip and Yuri didn't get to hear about it…well, they're not angry, they're just very, very disappointed. You've hardly ever seen Yuri actually lose their temper, though a conversation with Zhou Ba Lan can get them pretty close to it.

Other True Elysians

Notable Enemies

Coalition of Political Prisoners

  • Aanya Khatri: A charismatic leader who's disturbingly good at rallying the dissidents together. Give her an inch and she'll take a mile.
  • Linh Trần: It seems like cracks are showing between her and Aanya, it might be possible to exploit those.

Prisoners of War and other well-known Tel

  • General Vrak: A rallying point, so worth inconveniencing as much as possible.
  • I Teyk Ngalsh Kel: Claims to think the Tel should 'integrate' into the general population, which is a transparent excuse for trying to corrupt decent Elysians with their weird ideas.
  • Zhou Ba Lan Dorh Tru: Clearly has something against Yuri, not to mention gathering as much information as he can to pass on to the rest of the Tel. If you can feed him any misinformation or misleading gossip, please do: it'll make Yuri happy, it'll hopefully screw the Tel over, and it'll be hilarious. [DEAD]

Others

  • Charles Richards: It's normally not worth messing with the Family, but Jimmy will keep picking fights with this guy. Apparently there's some history there.
  • Manny Sousa: Hanging out with us more since the cybernetics incident; good man in a fight.
