The initial investigation into the deaths of Hitomi Kenta's family lead to no conviction, and it wasn't until 12 years later that additional evidence was uncovered linking her to the release of poison gas into her home, and allowing her conviction for 8 counts of murder. She was captured with several known members of the criminal organisation known as the Sovereign Family, and resisted arrest for several minutes despite multiple bullet wounds, giving some of the other gang members present time to escape.
